| There
are opportunities for service within the parish and to the wider community.
St. Dunstan's relies on its Vestry and Altar Guild, teachers in the
Church School, musicians, lay readers, eucharistic ministers, acolytes,
leaders of the youth groups, visitors to the sick and shut-in, and
those who volunteer to assist with publications, special events, and
caring for the buildings and grounds.
The people of St. Dunstan's
are especially concerned for the hungry. We maintain a food pantry,
and we are ready to deliver food to those in need. The parish contributes
regularly to the Rector's discretionary fund, to meet pressing needs
for food and shelter.
Our ministry extends
to the larger community, also, through a weekly service at Merry
Heart Nursing Home, and through providing classrooms, an assembly
room, and a playground for 180 children who attend the Nursery School
at St. Dunstan's.
Through our regular contributions
to the Diocese of Newark and to Episcopal Relief and Development,
and in occasional special offerings -- most recently for aid to
Afghanistan--we seek to minister to people in need everywhere.
You will find the people
of St. Dunstan's warm and welcoming. We gather every Sunday for
refreshment in the Parish Hall following the 10 o'clock service.
The families of the parish take turns serving as hosts for this
lively half-hour of fellowship (which we hold on the lawn in fine
weather). There is a Sunday brunch once a month, picnics in June
and September, a pool party in mid-summer, and occasional progressive
dinners. Twice a year the Vestry hosts a luncheon for new members.
The parish newsletter,
The
Bell, is published six times a year and is available at the
church or by calling the parish office
