Mission Statement
Strateic Plan - December 14, 2002
Brief History
The long-term vision for St. Dunstan's is to double our membership and build a new church in order to more effectively proclaim the Gospel. The Five-Year Strategic Plan was developed by the Vestry as a result of dialogue with the congregation. It was compiled by the Profile Committee. This plan is a work in progress; while some of the objectives have already been completed, others are just under way. Dates in parenthesis are anticipated completion dates. The Vestry will address other objectives and goals as we meet the current ones. All Vestry members will be accountable and responsible for each objective and action item. All Vestry members will be required to join at least one of the ministries.

We have chosen four main goals to complete over the next five years.

Goal number one is to grow the membership by 10 percent per year over the next five years.

Objective 1 - Redevelop a Newcomers Welcoming Ministry. (In progress)

V This Ministry will welcome newcomers at all the services and present each new member with a fresh baked loaf of bread.
V They will send out an information packet to these potential new members.
V They will try to incorporate these new members into at least one Ministry within 6-12 months.

Objective 2 - Improve the effectiveness of all the Ministries. (01/18/03)

V A bulletin board with all the Ministries and sign up sheets has been posted in the Parish Hall - labeled "Opportunities to Serve."
V Announcements will occasionally be made during the service to remind everyone to continue to sign up and join a new Ministry.
V The Stewardship Ministry will continue to stress that one's time, talent and treasure are all needed. We will make this an ongoing year-round campaign.

Objective 3 - Increase our exposure in the community. (03/01/03)

V Advertising in local papers and the "Welcome Wagon".
V Signs will be posted along the main roads of Roxbury Township.
V We will strive to bring in new members from our affiliation with the Nursery School at St. Dunstan's.
V Improve our visibility in the newspapers and update our Web page.

Objective 4 - We need to enrich the Spiritual Life of the Parish through pastoral care. (On going)

V Continue Bible Study and Adult Forums.

V "Building and Grounds" will develop a preliminary facility plan.
V Address our growth requirements and make the church a more inspiring place to worship.
V Determine the requirements needed to support the current and future ministries of the Church.

Objective 2 - Building and Grounds Ministry will propose cosmetic improvements to the facility and the grounds. (On going)

V Develop short-term cosmetic improvements to the inside and outside of our structure.

V Architectural design and fund raising issues will be addressed and approved.
V Anticipated "Ground Breaking" on our 45th anniversary in October 2008.
